Temple Emanu-El offers Shabbat services throughout the year, both on Friday evenings and on Saturday mornings. Each are unique and wonderful. All include beautiful music; all are easy to follow; and all are fully egalitarian, with women and men having equal privileges in regards to ritual.
Our Friday evening services are musical, joyful and short (relatively speaking). During Season, we often have guest musicians joining us – sometimes a violinist, sometimes a percussionist, sometimes more! The music at Temple Emanu-El will touch your soul and keep you singing beautiful melodies to yourself long after you leave the service.
An Oneg Shabbat follows services.
Our Shabbat morning services lean slightly more traditional. Services are conducted primarily – although not exclusively – in Hebrew, and services usually incorporate just the music of a piano or an organ. Our Torah Reading is based on the Triennial Cycle (we read the entire Torah over a three-year period) and the Haftorah is always chanted. Services conclude with Musaf. Like on Friday evenings, Shabbat morning services are warm and welcoming!
Kiddush Lunch is served after Services for Temple Members and guests alike.
