Fashion historian Caroline Elenowitz-Hess will examine the evolution of this unique garment. From ancient Roman sports bras to modern bullet bras, its connection to beauty ideals is a fascinating comment on the role of women in a changing society.
Ms. Elenowitz-Hess was a fashion designer before pursuing her MA in Fashion Studies from Parsons School of Design. She holds an AAS from the Fashion Institute of Technology and a BA in English Literature from Yale University. She is currently a PhD student at Bard College and a mentor with the Parsons Paris pre-college programs.
This program will be held in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
