Siyyum for Firstborns via Zoom

Wednesday, April 8, 2020, 9:00 am - 9:30 am

Avoid the Fast of the First Born….

Join the Siyyum!
Wednesday, April 8
9am-9:30am

Are you the firstborn child in your family?  The firstborn of Egypt died at Passover when the Israelites went free. As a result, firstborn Jews – usually males –  commemorate the loss of the Egyptian firstborn by not eating or drinking the day before Pesach. (It’s a beautiful notion, actually… showing compassion and empathy even for people we don’t like.)

There is one way however, to NOT have to fast.
Participate in a Siyyum – the completion of one of the books of the Torah or Mishnah.

Once you’ve done that, you can eat.  So join us!

Please contact Rabbi Michael Resnick for the Zoom login information.
