 ded Iraq Research and Documentation Project. He received multiple academic
  awards\, including an honorary Ph.D. in Humanities\, and certificates of 
 appreciation from branches of the U.S. government. He has a Ph.D. in Near 
 Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University. He is a professor of 
 political science at Florida Atlantic University and the Chastain-Johnston
  Middle Eastern Studies Distinguished Professor.
