About our Speaker:

Rabbi Adina Lewittes is the founder of Sha’ar Communities, a groundbreaking initiative in Bergen County, NJ, that offers a variety of portals into Jewish life for people of all backgrounds, including those living on the margins of the Jewish institutional world.

Rabbi Lewittes was born and raised in the Modern Orthodox community of Montreal, Quebec.  She studied in the Rabbinical School of the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York and was ordained in 1993, becoming the first Canadian woman to be ordained a Conservative rabbi.
