Temple Emanu-El of Palm Beach

Spiritual. Egalitarian. Welcoming.

COVID-19 / Temple Emanu-El of Palm Beach

Haverim – Dear Friends,

Based on an order from Governor Ron DeSantis to close all non-essential businesses, Temple Emanu-El of Palm Beach is now temporarily closed.

This means that we – Rabbi, Hazzan and Claudio – will not be able to be here in Temple Emanu-El to live stream our Shabbat Services or Morning Minyanim for the immediate future.

Anticipating this possibility, we took the liberty this morning of recording some special Shabbat Services, slightly modified to better suit an online-only audience. They are both about an hour in length and – I think – really beautiful. We are calling them “Healing Services.”

To view the Friday Evening Kabbalat Shabbat Healing Service, click here.  The recommended viewing time is Friday at 6pm.

To view the Saturday Shabbat Morning Healing Service, click here. The recommended viewing time is Saturday at 10am. (This way, we can all watch together at the same time 🙂

Alternatively, you can also click here to be taken to our Live Streaming page. Scroll down all the way down to see the available archives.

We have placed Siddurim that correspond to these Services on our Live Streaming page, as well. Feel free to use them to daven and sing along with us.

(There is also a Morning Minyan Service that you can view on any weekday morning by clicking here.)

We look forward to the time when we can all be back together at Temple Emanu-El.

Additionally, all support groups and scheduled committee meetings will be suspended.

The above is scheduled to remain in effect through Thursday, April 16, 2020, but is subject to change.

The suspension of our regular activities at Temple Emanu-El are only temporary.  We are taking these actions to protect the health and well-being of our congregants, clergy, guests and staff.

We are diligently working on innovative ways to conduct classes through Zoom video conferencing during this time period.  More information about this will be sent to you as it becomes available.

Additionally, a proactive committee is being set up to reach out to those most vulnerable in our community.   A team of Temple Emanu-El members have volunteered their time to shop and deliver whatever you require or just provide a listening ear to help you through these uncertain times if needed. If this applies to you or to someone you know, please call us for assistance.

Here are our contacts if needed.

Rabbi – 561-236-0787

Hazzan – 561-628-4188

Steven Horowitz – 561-762-7011

David Schreier – 561-248-3474

Thank you for your understanding and patience. These are unprecedented times, but we will get through them together!
