The Phyllis & George Rothman Religious School of Temple Emanu-El offers dynamic, creative and stimulating programs in Jewish studies for all our students. The goal of our school is to provide our students with an opportunity to explore Judaism and integrate it into their daily lives. We have created a unique experiential learning environment in which our students not only learn about Judaism, but live Judaism.
Our classes integrate academic content with hands-on experience. Our students study Bible, Prayer, holidays, Jewish Ethics, Jewish History, Jewish Philosophy and Jewish cultures from around the world through multi-media experiences and action-oriented activities which include drama, art, debate, singing, writing, journalism, cooking and much more. Our school is not confined to the classroom; rather our students will taste, smell and touch the various aspects of Judaism. We stress Torah, the living of Jewish life and the performance of deeds of loving kindness.
Our teachers and staff are dedicated to instilling in each student: 1) an understanding of the values of Judaism, 2) a love of Torah and Jewish learning, 3) a sense of responsibility for the Jewish community and the community at large and 4) an appreciation for the State of Israel.
At the Rothman Religious School we feel that families are an essential part of the educational process. With outstanding teachers, quality educational experiences that are fun and engaging, and with the leadership and support of the Religious School Committee, great things are happening!
